Product Description

This is a U.S. Peace Silver Dollar dated 1923. It was minted at the US Mint in Philadelphia in 1923. This coin would grade in the condition of uncirculated. This coin comes encapsulated in a round, air-tite, acrylic holder as pictured. The holder is a nice way to display and protect the coin.

U.S. coins are a great way to own a piece of American history. The Peace dollar was issued by the United States to commemorate the ending of World War I and was minted from 1921 to 1935. The coin features Miss Liberty on the front side and an American Eagle on the reverse side perched on the rock of peace watching the sunrise of a new era peace. Long out of circulation, many people have never seen a real silver dollar. It's fun to imagine what these coins may have been used to purchase during the roaring 20's and depression era 1930s. The coin is 1 1/2 inches in diameter and was minted in 90 percent silver. No U.S. coins have been minted for general circulation in 90 percent silver since 1964. Coins made of 90 percent silver long ago disappeared from circulation as the value of their silver content began to far exceed the face value of the coins. This beautiful old Silver Dollar is very affordable at this price. It makes a great gift to give to a child or is a nice coin to own yourself.
